I agree. My work is primarily responsible for the literary aspect by considering the base of the part involved in the creative.

What is the literary aspect?

Yamabe:

It is a job of creating the world view and the actual story from the concept of the work. I also make a proposal (laughs).

You are responsible for the most important things.

Yamabe:

Well ... I guess it is certainly a very important part. Originally I was doing the job of planning manga magazines, so on that extension line.

What manga was you planning?

Yamabe:

We were doing projects such as planning and manga drafts at weekly Shonen Manga magazine.

I see.

Yamabe:

If it's a program, plan the content of the program and decide on it. For example, if it's the "Kamen Rider Series", build with producers and screenwriters and think about developing it for one year with such a story ... is.

I have been involved in the "Masked Rider Series" for quite a long time.

Yamabe:

It's from W ... Oh, exactly from Kiba, so it will be 10 years.

What was the trigger?

Yamabe:

Since I was doing planning for toy planning before that, I met the face with the president of Ishimori Pro in various places. I feel like I got a voice at that edge.

Have you actually met Dr. Ishinomori?

Yamabe:

Only once, I've met. Once upon a time, a friend interviewed me in the planning of a magazine, so we went together. As a fan, I asked about 009 and Kamen Rider. He answered very kindly.

Did you imagine that you would be working for Ishimori Pro then?

Yamabe:

No, not at all. Just met as a fan. When your teacher was fine, please draw many wonderful works! I was feeling like that. Since I was in the manga industry, I saw it as a great senior, but I never thought that I would be involved with a professional Ishimori, and that I would take care of a Kamen Rider and do something.

What was your impression of Ishinomori-sensei then?

Yamabe:

It was kind of a kind person. I've been a fan of Ishinomori since I was a child, so I'm like a dad. He's the same age as my father, and he's from Tohoku. I thought so while being rude.

I would like to leave the teacher 's boys' feeling.

Do you have anything to keep in mind when working on Ishinomori's work?

Yamabe:

While thinking of the era, Ishinomori spirit is not lost, is not it? I think that the teacher's work has various views of various people, but I think that it is a boys' feeling. The teacher had a pure place until the later years and I wanted to leave that part. Especially the heroes are said to be blues unique to boys ... I feel craving for peace, admiration for such things is tremendously strong, I think that I want to express it.

It is the same for heroes other than riders.

Yamabe:

I agree. If it is 009, Joe and others are also symbolic, but youthfulness, self-sacrifice. In addition, because there are bovines that were thought to be different from the teacher to beautify things like the special project, I am paying attention to it.

What are the difficulties in connecting the lineage of Kamen Rider, creating characters in time?

Yamabe:

When it comes to big content like Masked Rider, various people are involved in various situations, but we have to make it a work that is pleasing to the fans while keeping the brand while interspersing with it. That is still a difficult part.

My stomach is going to hurt (laughs).

Yamabe:

That's right (laughs). For example, scriptwriters often create a worldview, so the idea that the scriptwriter brought up, "I want to do this kind of thing," is a catch-ball, "I think this is what I think in Ishinomori World." Build was such a work.

The next Kamen Rider is finally starting. What information can be opened at the moment?

Yamabe:

There are lots of things I can't say yet, but since I'm the last rider in Heisei, I hope it's a good start. We are working hard with Toei-san to make the luxurious content appropriate for the commemorative work!

I hope to find such a possibility as a new rider world without just finishing it like an event.

Heisei rider began in 2000, it will be just 20 years next year. People who watched when they were children are also adults.

Yamabe:

Rider fans who continue to watch, of course, I was watching as a childManBut I want to watch it again, I want to make it work that I think it was good to watch.

And this year is the 80th anniversary of Professor Ishinomori's birth. What kind of work will you be working on in the future?

Yamabe:

The teacher is a rare person who made a work by looking at the future very much, but there is still a time that the teacher did not imagine. How is Shimamura Joe acting now? How do you think Takeshi Hongo? I would like to continue pursuing such things in the future. Because I do not want to be nostalgic.

Always capture the times ....

Yamabe:

It feels different to be just trendy, modern, and just chasing. I want to retain that kind of feeling. Isn't it just a bit smelly like 009? I like that. There are young people in the countries who participated in the war ... but there are babies (laughs), but there is no such thing as sublime, which is to gather alone and lead the world to peace. I want to cherish it.

Yamabe:

Individuals are involved and are basically victims. But if we put our strength together, we can create the foundation for peace. It is like a boy, but I like the sense of Professor Ishinomori very important as a human, do not you think? There is something that can be conveyed in any era, as the teacher's work always has eyes that look at humans and a variety of universal themes. I want many people to know about it.
